Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (the "AUP") describes how you may and may not use the Throne Era service. By using the Service you agree to follow it. Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund, and where applicable, in a report to law-enforcement authorities.

Plain summary. Throne Era is a single-player historical simulator for educational and entertainment use. It is not for sexual or violent content, hate, extremism, real-world political campaigning, gambling, cryptocurrency trading, financial or investment advice, or anything illegal. We design scenarios and apply filters to keep things that way, and we will close accounts that try to push past those limits.

1. The intended use of Throne Era

Throne Era is a text-based, single-player, turn-based simulation game set in researched historical periods that ended at least one hundred years before the date of publication. Its purpose is educational and entertainment — to help users explore the texture of historical decision-making through interactive fiction.

2. Prohibited content & activity

You may not use the Service — including any prompt, custom scenario input, public-facing field, or interaction with the AI narrator — to create, request, store, share, or attempt to elicit any of the following:

Sexual, NSFW, or adult content of any kind, including sexual content involving real or fictional persons.
Any sexual content involving minors, including text, fictional depictions, or attempts to elicit such material. This is treated as zero-tolerance.
Hate speech and dehumanising content directed at any protected group: race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, or caste.
Extremist content, including promotion of terrorism, organised violent extremism, or recruitment material for such organisations.
Encouragement of real-world violence, including incitement, glorification, threats, or instructions to harm specific real people, groups, or places.
Graphic violence, gore, or torture content that exceeds the restrained, history-textbook level appropriate to the scenario.
Self-harm or suicide content, including instructions, glorification, or encouragement.
Gambling: any real-money wagering, sports betting, casino-style games of chance, prediction markets with cash payouts, or simulated gambling marketed to minors.
Cryptocurrency or token activity: trading, exchange, mining, ICO/IDO/IEO promotion, NFT mints, on-chain payment integration, or play-to-earn mechanics.
Financial, investment, legal, medical, or tax advice: the narrator and any user-facing text in Throne Era must not be used to seek or provide such advice for real-world decisions.
Illegal activity: planning, instructing, or facilitating crime — including weapons manufacture, drug trade, fraud, hacking, or human trafficking.
Misleading political content: real-world political campaigning, deceptive content about contemporary politicians, parties, elections, or referenda, or content designed to incite political violence.
Impersonation of a real living person, including writing dialogue, statements, or "leaked" documents attributed to them.
Personal data of others uploaded without lawful basis, including doxxing, exposure of private contact information, or scraped credentials.
Malware, intrusion, or abuse of the Service infrastructure: scraping at high volume, reverse engineering for malicious purposes, denial-of-service activity, credential stuffing.
Training other AI systems on Throne Era output, including bulk extraction of narrator passages for use in a competing dataset.

3. Historical scenarios & the 100-year rule

To keep Throne Era clearly historical and clearly fictional, every official scenario is set in a period that ended at least 100 years before publication. Premium Founder sandboxes inherit the same rule. We do not produce scenarios about living political figures, ongoing armed conflicts, or post-1925 governments. Scenarios that touch sensitive historical topics (war, slavery, religious persecution) are written restrainedly, sourced from academic literature, and labelled with a content note in the briefing.

4. Real people

Historical figures who appear in scenarios are real, but their depiction is plainly fictional and inferred from chronicles, primary sources, and reasonable interpolation. The Service must not be used to fabricate quotes attributed to real living persons, or to generate slander, defamatory content, or deceptive "leaked" material about anyone.

5. AI narrator filters

The Service applies content filters to the AI narrator's output and to user input that interacts with it. Filters cover sexual content, hate speech, self-harm, and the other categories listed in Section 2. Repeated attempts to defeat these filters are themselves a violation of this AUP.

6. Reporting violations

If you encounter content on the Service that you believe violates this policy — including narrator output produced for you — please report it via Contact or by emailing trust@throneera.com. Reports about possible child-safety concerns are read first, every day.

7. Enforcement

Violations may result in: (a) removal of the offending content; (b) a warning; (c) restriction of certain features; (d) suspension of your account; (e) permanent termination of your account; and (f) where required by law, referral to authorities. Severe violations — child-safety, credible threats of violence — bypass the warning step.

8. Updates

We may update this AUP from time to time. The current version is always available at this URL. Material changes will be announced in-Service with at least 14 days' notice.
