These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Throne Era (the "Service"), operated by Throne Era Studio ("Throne Era", "we", "us"). By creating an account, joining the waitlist, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Throne Era is a text-based, single-player simulation game. The Service presents historical scenarios in which the user makes governance decisions; the Service then generates narrative responses using a combination of pre-written content and large language model output. The Service is provided for educational and entertainment purposes only and does not constitute political, legal, financial, medical, or any other professional advice.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may only use the Service with the consent of a parent or guardian. Users between 13 and 15 may not subscribe to paid tiers; only the Free Preview is available to them.
Paid subscriptions, when available, are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis at the prices listed on our Pricing page. Prices are quoted in US dollars unless otherwise indicated; local taxes may be added at checkout.
Your subscription will renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, unless cancelled before the renewal date.
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Access continues until that date.
Refunds are handled according to our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Payments are processed by licensed third-party payment service providers. Throne Era does not store full payment card numbers on its servers. By subscribing, you authorize the payment provider to charge the applicable amount to your selected payment method.
Your use of the Service must at all times comply with our Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account without refund.
Narrative passages in the Service are generated, in whole or in part, by a large language model that operates on top of curated, pre-written scenarios and a fixed game state. Outputs are presented as fictional in-game text and should not be relied upon as factual statements about any real person, organization, or event.
Throne Era applies content filters and scenario design controls to reduce the likelihood of harmful, hateful, sexual, or otherwise prohibited output. No filtering system is perfect; if you encounter output that violates our Acceptable Use Policy, please report it via Contact.
The Service — including its scenarios, mechanics, code, art direction, written briefings, the Throne Era name and logo — is owned by Throne Era Studio and protected by intellectual-property law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and play the Service for your personal, non-commercial use.
Game-state data and narrator output produced during your play sessions are yours to read, save, and share for personal, non-commercial purposes, provided you credit Throne Era and do not modify the output to misrepresent its source.
You may not: (a) sell, sublicence, or commercially redistribute Service content; (b) train another machine-learning system on Throne Era output; (c) reverse-engineer the Service except to the extent permitted by law; or (d) remove copyright or attribution notices.
We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if required to do so by law, or if continued provision of the Service to you is no longer commercially viable. You may close your account at any time from your account page.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Throne Era Studio's aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to Throne Era in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 50. Throne Era will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Throne Era Studio and its personnel from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by an in-Service notice at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Throne Era Studio is registered, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms will first be submitted to good-faith negotiation; failing resolution, the courts of that jurisdiction will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you a non-waivable right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
